Prior to that, she laid a solid foundation in her academic pursuits, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Biology from Temple University. Her commitment to pediatric care led her to complete her Pediatric Residency at SUNY Downstate Hospital, where she honed her skills and deepened her understanding of child health and development.

Throughout her career, Dr. Steinberg has held various positions that have allowed her to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare community. From serving as a physician in the Pediatric Emergency Department at King’s County Hospital to stepping up as interim Director at Broward Health COVID testing site during the height of the pandemic, she has demonstrated unwavering dedication and leadership.

Since February 2022, Dr. Steinberg has been serving as a pediatrician at Broward Community Family Health Centers, where she continues to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to her young patients and their families.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Steinberg is a devoted mother to her own newborns, a testament to her profound love for children. Her personal experiences as a parent only further fuel her empathy and understanding when caring for her patients.

Charmaine has extensive experience working with ill children in third world countries, including treating tropical diseases in locations such as Nicaragua and Honduras. Her experience in these challenging environments has given her a unique perspective on pediatric care and has prepared her to handle even the most complex cases with skill and compassion.

In addition to her work with critically ill children, Charmaine has a special focus on providing care to pediatric patients with chronic illnesses, developmental delays, tracheostomies, and gastrostomy tubes. She is passionate about working with families to develop comprehensive care plans that meet the unique needs of each child.

Before joining Total Pediatric Care, Alexandra served as an Assistant Director at ChildTime Learning Center, where she helped lead daily school operations, coordinated staff schedules, organized events, and worked closely with families to ensure their children’s success. Her leadership in managing logistics and fostering strong community relationships reflects her lifelong passion for helping others thrive.

Alexandra has also worked in medical offices and corporate environments, mastering patient coordination, insurance processes, and executive-level administration. Her ability to juggle complex responsibilities while maintaining a calm, welcoming presence at the front desk is nothing short of remarkable.

Outside of work, Alexandra is a devoted mother—a role she treasures deeply. Somehow, between parenting, managing operations, and supporting our clinical team, she makes it all look easy. Her dedication to both her family and our practice inspires everyone around her.
